Workshop offered during the Monitoring and Evaluation training (07/06/2024)

Results of the first training cycle of the year 2024:

The months of April, May and June were the opportunity for La Guilde and the Microproject Center to launch the new training program for this year 2024. Having reached the end of this first cycle, we look back on these few weeks with the project leaders who came to attend the different modules.

Organized within the Halle Pajol in the 18th arrondissementth arrondissement of Paris, these 6 days of training brought together 67 people representing 22 associations who came to learn more about project management and two more specific themes: Income Generating Activities and the Integration of Agroecology in Microprojects. Among these organizations, 10 already winning associations came to complete their theoretical background or to train more specifically on the theoretical modules offered. These moments also allow to welcome organizations that are starting out or that wish to supplement the support offered by the Microproject Center with additional tools and methodology.

Feedback from associations allows us to measure the importance of these training courses, which attempt to combine theoretical contributions on project management with practical case studies to expose associations to the realities on the ground: "The training includes a theoretical component and realistic practical cases that allow you to properly address the challenges of an Income Generating Activity"; "The training offers solid content with practical exercises that put you in real-life situations." The whole point of these modules is to put associations in a real-life situation by offering them the theoretical input necessary to support them in key stages of developing their project: "Combining practice with theory after participating in the development of the budget for a project recently set up by our association"; "Very good content, clear and useful for putting together a funding application file." Of course, training alone is not enough. The concepts studied and worked on require specific adaptation to the specific project of the associations. Adaptation that the support system offered by the Microprojects Center can allow: “The content is very detailed. I found all the information I needed. These documents will allow me to revise with the possibility of returning to La Guilde in case of problems”; “I learned a lot of things. Being a novice in the subject, I appreciated it. The content was very rich. I will have to reread it, study it more thoroughly!”

This first cycle also allowed the organization of a new theoretical module, presented by Emmanuelle Patetsos, an agronomist who has worked in various NGOs (Terre & Humanisme, FERT, GRET, CIRAD, etc.). Based on the Integration of Agroecology in Microprojects, this day allowed associations to understand the different social, economic, technical and environmental dimensions that make up agroecological projects. Several workshops, practical cases and activities complemented this module: "This training offers content that is both technical (concrete examples), methodological and theoretical. It's very good because it allows for a comprehensive overview. The training was interesting because it used a few games to "break the ice" and practical cases to apply what we have seen. This allowed for moments of exchange."

This assessment allows us to approach the rest of this 2024 training year with new features to offer to project leaders. A new theoretical module based on Gender Integration in Microprojects will be organized in September. The opening of calls for projects in Sport & Development will allow associations to be able to train specifically on this theme with distance learning modules on Gender Integration in this type of project and on Child Protection.
