THE Toemighin village is located 35km from Nobere, the main town of the commune of the same name, and has approximately 1,500 inhabitants. Access to shops, culture, social infrastructure, and leisure activities, such as places for young people to relax with friends, is very difficult. To obtain basic necessities, residents must travel to long and tiring distances to get to the local market In Nobili, supplies are often insufficient, forcing them to travel even further to Nyorida. The village children also lack access to games and various activities.
As part of a first agricultural project led by the Kilimanjar'hope association in partnership with the Vision de Jeunes pour le Développement Durable (VJDD) association, An educational garden and a school nursery had been established in the village of Toemighin. This project allowed the associations to become permanently rooted at the local level.
The partnership is extended with a new project aiming to bring new services to the residents of Toemighin. This is made possible by the installation of a solar kiosk in the village center, in the market square, in partnership with Electricians Without Borders. Deeply involved, we owe a debt of gratitude to the community, and in particular to the Village Development Committee, the Youth Committee, and the Women's Groups, for providing the land and constructing the buildings that will house the Community Leisure Center (CPL).
3,500 people: the 1,500 inhabitants of Toemighin and 2,000 inhabitants of neighboring villages who will benefit from the CPL services
