In Burkina Faso, there is a significant decline in local biodiversity, threatened by bushfires and the widespread use of pesticides. These factors combine to threaten local flora and fauna with extinction while exacerbating soil and crop destruction.
The lack of profitability of organic food crops being tested by three local associations (ANDEM, CSSN, and Wend-La Sida) necessitates the implementation of an innovative strategy to achieve economic viability. The most vulnerable populations, such as young people but especially women, find themselves isolated in the face of this lack of resources.
Furthermore, in the commune of Kokologo, the population, and particularly women, face significant food and economic hardship. This is why ASAF3E has supported the establishment of a pilot, self-sufficient market garden since its inception.
Through the implementation of soilless fish farming, integrated into the agricultural production of the farm, the project aims to meet the country's expectations regarding the reduction of fish exports and to improve the nutrition of the inhabitants by providing them with quality proteins.
Through its Microprojects division, the NGO La Guilde, in partnership with the French Development Agency, supports the implementation of microprojects for sustainable development internationally.
