The village of Koolo-Hamdallaye, in the Dabola prefecture of Guinea, has approximately 2,000 inhabitants who live off agriculture and livestock farming. School enrollment rates are very low, almost nonexistent for girls. The village is very isolated and far from health centers, the nearest being more than 35 km away. Due to the lack of healthcare facilities, childhood vaccination coverage is virtually nonexistent, pregnant women receive no prenatal care or assisted delivery, and diseases related to poor hygiene (malaria, skin problems, infections, parasitic diseases) are quite common.
After mobilizing to build the health center, which was not completed, the villagers, gathered in a committee, approached the Barkondiral association.
Ensuring access to healthcare for all residents of the village of Kolo-Hamdallaye
1) To provide prenatal care and support during childbirth.
2) Develop the organization of preventive activities through vaccination, information and education campaigns.
3) Reduce infant mortality and maternal mortality.
4) Improve the management of common local health conditions.
5) Improve hygiene and well-being by contributing to the establishment of local living environments that promote health and formulate strategic information on inequalities in this area.

Through its Microprojects division, the La Guilde association, in partnership with the French Development Agency, supports the implementation of microprojects in the service of sustainable development internationally.
