These are 32 projects which were selected from the 155 submitted on June 11 and 12, the date of the final committee of the spring 2024 session of La Guilde's "Territorialized Microproject Platform" program. This program, thanks to the support of the French Development Agency, allows the financing of microprojects via a call for projects which takes place twice a year.

These 32 winning projects will receive grants ranging from €3,000 to €20,000, for a total budget of 441 689 €. 24 external experts volunteered their expertise to help select the projects. Some have been doing so for many years, enabling informed selection thanks to their in-depth analysis of the files.

Alissar France – Lebanon Association

For this session, the projects take place in 18 different countries according to a fairly homogeneous distribution by country. Latin America climbs onto the podium for the first time thanks to Colombia, ex aequo with Cameroon, which have 3 projects financed respectively, after Senegal and Togo which each benefit from 4 projects financed.

Although two-thirds of the projects take place in Africa, some new or rarely endowed countries are appearing among the winners: South Africa and Ukraine. On the other hand, out of 5 files submitted for Haiti, 2 are financed, proof that development aid, via microprojects, can take place in areas classified as red from a security point of view thanks to the adaptability of civil society organizations, and the dynamics of committed partnerships.

The share of projects addressing the issue of the environment from different angles is constantly increasing, reaching almost a third of the funded projects of this session, as much as the number of projects relating to community life and inclusion. Then come the themes around health, education and projects relating to several themes at the same time.

LAAFI Association

Here are some notable winning projects from this session:

  • «Creation of a national addiction network in Chad»

This project supported by the association Mutual Health Aid 92 allows us to address two issues: strengthening prevention and training in addiction, which until now has been handled in a single center in the country; and participating in the fight against violence against women and girls, often resulting from excessive alcohol consumption among men.

  • «Restoring Ukrainian children playfulness to face war and exile»

Is a project of the association Humacoop-Amel in Ukraine with a threefold objective: firstly, to provide psychosocial support, based on therapeutic play, to refugee and/or displaced children and their families. Secondly, to strengthen the capacities of Ukrainian organizations involved in helping children and refugees, thanks to tailor-made technical support. Finally, to inform and raise awareness among the general public about the consequences of the war in Ukraine on children.

  • «Cinema and inclusion in Togo»

From the association Kipepeo Films, aims to improve access to cinema and culture for visually impaired people in Togo, a topic that is rarely addressed. This project uses cinema as a tool to provide a space of freedom for expression and creation. It also helps facilitate accessibility to films for people with disabilities in Togo, particularly people with visual impairments.

The Guild makes it possible to finance a wide variety of projects in increasingly varied geographical and thematic areas. This is made possible thanks to the considerable and rigorous work of the teams and their partners, such as:’French Development Agency, regional multi-stakeholder networks who provide close support to project leaders, and the Act Your Life Foundation which also contributes financially to supporting these small international solidarity initiatives.
